ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday strongly condemned drone and missile attacks on civilian infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), expressing full solidarity with the country’s leadership and people.

In a statement, the prime minister said Pakistan stands firmly with the UAE and its citizens during this difficult time, emphasizing brotherly relations between the two nations.

He stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire and urged all parties to allow diplomatic efforts to continue for achieving long-term peace and stability in the region.

The condemnation comes after the UAE reported missile and drone strikes, including an attack on the Fujairah energy hub, which resulted in injuries and raised concerns over regional security.

UAE officials described the incident as a serious escalation and stated that the country reserves the right to respond to such actions.

Reports indicated that the strikes were carried out amid rising tensions linked to ongoing regional conflicts, disrupting a period of relative calm following earlier diplomatic efforts.

Fujairah, a key energy export hub, holds strategic importance as it provides an alternative route for oil shipments outside the Strait of Hormuz.

International reactions also emerged, with calls for restraint, protection of civilian infrastructure, and ensuring uninterrupted navigation through vital global trade routes.

Pakistan reiterated its commitment to supporting dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful conflict resolution to prevent further escalation in the region.
