Indian Citizen Arrested in Rawalpindi During Crackdown on Illegal Foreigners
ISLAMABAD: Police in Rawalpindi have arrested an Indian national during an ongoing crackdown against illegal foreigners and Afghan nationals in the Westridge area.
According to an FIR registered by Sub-Inspector Rajab Ali, the incident occurred during routine patrol duty near Choor Chowk, where officers noticed a pedestrian coming from Misrial Road.
Police stated that the individual attempted to avoid checking upon noticing the law enforcement team but was intercepted and questioned on the spot.
During interrogation, he identified himself as Dilbar, a resident of India. Authorities said he was unable to present any valid visa or legal documentation for entry and stay in Pakistan.
A search of the individual reportedly led to the recovery of two ballpoint pens, four plain sheets of paper, and Rs1,750 in cash.
Following preliminary investigation, police registered a case under relevant legal provisions and further inquiry is underway.
